Dickson: Memorial attack is outrageous act of vandalism

Alliance Justice spokesperson Stewart Dickson has described the latest attack on a memorial to three Scottish soldiers in North Belfast as an outrageous act of vandalism

Mr Dickson was speaking after the memorial in Ligoniel, dedicated to the three victims of an IRA attack, was targeted for the 14^th time when paint was thrown over the front and back of it

Stewart Dickson MLA said: “That this memorial has again become the target of vandals is absolutely outrageous and must be stopped.

“This disrespectful act will have caused further pain to the families of the three victims.

“I appeal to those behind these incidents to stop. The friends and families of the victims deserve to be able to remember their loved ones in peace and without fear of intimidation.

“I would urge anyone with information to contact the PSNI as soon as possible.”
