A number of windows were smashed at the house in Deacon Street in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Councillor John Blair said: “It is completely unacceptable that anyone should be made to feel unsafe in their own home. I am completely outraged at this attack.
“This will have been a traumatic experience for those currently living at the property and my thoughts are with them. I am relived no-one was injured.
“There is no place in our society for this type of behaviour and I would urge anyone with information to contact the PSNI as soon as possible.”
