Cllr John Blair said: “Police officers could have been killed by this pipe bomb. This attack was completely unacceptable and should be condemned by all.
“Those responsible for this attack are callous individuals who have no regards for the lives of other people.
“I would call for calm on all sides. I would urge people not to get involved in violence.
“If anybody has any information about this pipe bomb then I would urge them to contact the police.”
