Lo shocked at attempted hijacking of ambulance

Alliance South Belfast MLA Anna Lo has expressed her shock after a man attempted to hijack an ambulance on Wednesday night on Union Street in Belfast City Centre. Two paramedics were in the back of the vehicle treating a patient. A security device prevented the man from driving the ambulance.

Anna Lo MLA said: “I can not believe that a person would attempt to hijack an ambulance especially while the paramedics were treating a patient inside the vehicle at the time. The actions of this individual could have resulted in there being one less ambulance being able to save lives.

“The actions of this person are clearly idiotic. He obviously has no regards for the consequences of his actions.

“If anybody has any information about this attempted hijacking then they must contact the police.”
