Dickson says news on Derry rail line is excellent for tourism industry

Alliance Regional Development Spokesperson Stewart Dickson MLA has welcomed news that work on the railway line between Coleraine and Londonderry will begin earlier than planned, saying this is a very positive development for public transport and our tourism industry.

Stewart Dickson MLA said: “This is excellent news and Alliance has been campaign strongly on this issue for a long time.

“This will help boost our tourism industry and will help encourage even more people to use public transport as we work to increase sustainability in Northern Ireland.

“I would sincerely hope that much of this work will be completed in time for Derry’s City of Culture year in 2013, and I would call on the Minister do to everything in his power to ensure that this is the case.”
