Kieran McCarthy MLA said: “This was a very positive rally at Stormont and I will continue to battle to save this important service.
“We had parents and children from all around the area at the event and they met politicians here who gave them massive support in opposing these cuts.
“I am a member of the Business Committee and I am glad to see that on Tuesday 11 May a debate has been pencilled in for the Assembly, so that we can discuss a way forward to save the I Can centre.
“This is a vital resource for the community and I implore the education board to ensure this service survives. I have a commitment from the health board that they will continue to provide their funding, so the ball is now in the education board’s court.”
