Sean Neeson MLA said: “These job losses further illustrate the impact that the global economic downturn is still having on Northern Ireland.
“This follows Tuesday’s news that the number of people claiming job seekers allowance has risen by 2,000 in the last month. So while some are predicting that we over the worst of the downturn, we are however still feeling it.
“Much must be done to stabilise the local economy to ensure that we can bring the number of unemployed under control.
“People must have opportunities that they deserve and the Executive must put in place retraining schemes to get those who have been made redundant back in work.”
