Lo welcomes Queen’s University link with China

Alliance South Belfast MLA Anna Lo has welcomed the link-up between Queen’s University Belfast and several universities in China as part of a series of research and education agreements in a £2.3 million initiative.

Anna Lo MLA said: “It’s great news that Queen’s has continued to show its support for the links with Chinese institutions.

“Along with India, China is seen as the emerging economic superpower, so these links will benefit Northern Ireland and will hopefully lead to further investment.

“These links will also encourage Chinese students to study at Queen’s, so we will have the opportunity to educate some of the future leaders of China who will be making decisions about the Chinese economy when they graduate. This is a very positive development for Northern Ireland.”
