Fitzpatrick says petrol bomb attacks should have been consigned to the past

Alliance Coleraine Councillor Barney Fitzpatrick has condemned the petrol bomb attacks on a flat in Portrush in the early hours of Monday. The flat in Eglinton Street first had flammable liquid poured through a broken window before petrol bombs were thrown.

Cllr Fitzpatrick said: “I would have hoped that this type of attack would have been consigned to the past, but unfortunately I was mistaken.

“Northern Ireland is trying to move away petrol bombs but some people are still stuck in the past.

“I would totally condemn this attack, which was attempted murder and I would urge anybody with any information about this attack to contact the police.”
