Cllr Campbell said: “Nothing can more clearly illustrate the sheer bankruptcy of ideas of the RIRA than this attack. The timing is significant given the more positive news from the St Andrews Summit. At a time when constructive action is being taken by age old enemies, we have this futile and destructive act.
“Those of us in public life interested in a future for this community want to see more jobs and investment, not less. Terrorism is disgusting. Now is the time for peace, progress and prosperity.
Cllr Campbell concluded: “It would seem that much more extensive damage would have been caused were it not for the efficiency of the store’s sprinkler system. Unfortunately store holders will have to be continually vigilant in protecting their premises from this kind of threat.”
