Alliance Party President Dr Philip McGarry, has described as very disturbing the claims by Bobby Philpott of the UDA and Gary McMichael of the UDP that there was collusion between members of the security forces and Loyalist Paramilitaries. He has said that these claims need to be properly investigated.
Dr McGarry said:
“It may be that Bobby Philpott has his own particular agenda in making these allegations however if what he says is true it obviously poses serious questions for the security forces and indeed the community as a whole.”
“If Gary McMichael, Bobby Philpott or other Loyalists have information about collusion then this must by brought forward to allow for a complete and thorough investigation.”
