Cllr Billy Webb said: “I am shocked that such a violent and barbaric attack like this has happened.
“My thoughts are with the victim at this time. I hope he will be able to recover from such a serious attack.
“The people responsible for this shooting are obviously callous individuals who have no regard for the wellbeing of others. So I would urge anybody with any information about this attack to contact the police.”
