Webb – North Belfast device will not achieve anything

Alliance North Belfast representative Cllr Billy Webb has stated that those behind a suspected large device found in the Antrim Road area of Belfast will not achieve anything. The alert began on Tuesday afternoon after a phone warning was made. Over 100 people in the area have been evacuated from their home since the alert began.

Cllr Billy Webb said: “I am disgusted by the people behind this device. It sickens me to think that these people do not care about the consequences of their mindless actions. The vast majority of the population are opposed to this violence.

“People are just trying to go about their daily lives but they have been forced out of their own homes.

“If anybody has any information about this device or those who left it on the Antrim Road area then they should contact the police. These people must stop this violence, it will not achieve anything.”
