The devices were hurled through the window of the house in Heron Way in the Waterside area of the city around 10.30am today (Monday). It followed a brick also being thrown. Neither device exploded. Police said they believe “a loyalist paramilitary gang” are believed to be behind the attack.
“I am thankful no-one was injured or even worse in this despicable incident,” said Mr Doherty.
“Those behind this, who wish to cause fear and disruption, are to be condemned in the strongest possible terms. This is the second time in a number of days a property in the Waterside has been attacked. Local people do not want this violence on the streets.
“I appeal to anyone who has information on this incident to contact police with it immediately.”
