Yvonne Boyle stated: “I am delighted to see the Gallery reopening on 9 June, and I welcome the work the Arts Council has done securing a temporary lease and ensuring a Gallery Board Trust is established. The interim programme for the gallery and the availability of temporary staff is a good start.
“Following a difficult and complicated period, there is a number of proposals for future use, and we must be careful to ensure the gallery retains its prime purpose as a centre for contemporary art.
“Ormeau Baths has the potential to be a leading contemporary gallery, and this must not be diluted.”
