Alliance Ballymena Councillor Patricia O’Lynn has condemned those behind a robbery in the town yesterday (Wednesday) in which a machete was allegedly brandished.
Around 4:50pm, a man suffered minor facial injuries after being assaulted in a flat in the Crebilly Road area. Two males, one reported to have been armed with a machete, took a sum of cash and fled from the area.
“This must have been a terrifying incident for the victim and my thoughts are with him,” said Councillor O’Lynn.
“There is no place in society for those who wish to carry out these assaults and those behind this need to be taken off the streets immediately.
“I ask for anyone with information on this incident to contact police with it immediately.”
