Stewart Dickson MLA said: “I am very angry at the reports of a union flag being set alight in Belfast City Centre on Tuesday.
“No flag should ever be burnt. It is very disrespectful to burn any flag. We must move away from this type of divisive action and build a united community where tolerance and respect is shown.
“I have called for people to be respectful to all flags and last summer urged bonfire organisers to remove all emblems and symbols from their bonfires.”
