Neeson shocked at FG Wilson fresh job losses

Alliance Enterprise Spokesperson Séan Neeson MLA has said that the further job losses at FG Wilson are a real blow for a number of areas. It appears that 260 permanent members of staff are going to be made redundant across their operations in Larne, Monkstown and Springvale.

Séan Neeson MLA stated: “This news is a massive blow to several areas of Northern Ireland.

“Those affected must be given appropriate support and re-training assistance because this is an extremely difficult time to be looking for a new job.

“The news on the employment front seems to be going from bad to worse, so the Stormont Executive needs to look to radical ways to boost the economy. They need to do more to encourage entrepreneurship and create green economy projects.

“Northern Ireland has a highly skilled workforce and it’s up to the Stormont Executive to ensure the jobs are created to match local potential. This is essential, now more that ever.”
