Murphy condemns those behind bomb found in van in Newry alert

Alliance Newry and Armagh representative David Murphy has condemned those responsible for the bomb which was discovered in a van near Newry which the police have been examining.

David Murphy said: “The past week has shown that the public have been united in their opposition to these terrorist attacks. The callous people behind this bomb are trying to drag Northern Ireland back to the dark days of the Troubles.

“The vast majority of the public have signed up to the peace process, it is about time these inhuman thugs realise that they have no support for their actions.

“I would urge anybody with any information about this bomb to contact the police. By providing good information to the police we can hopefully put an end to these attacks.”
