McGrellis shocked at grenade attack on police

Alliance Foyle representative Keith McGrellis has expressed his shock at a grenade attack on police in Londonderry on Monday night. Police were dealing with a security alert on the Southway Road when a man threw a grenade at them, it did not explode and caused no injury.

Keith McGrellis said: “I am shocked and outraged at this attack on members of the Police Service. They are there to protect the community, but this mindless thug has attempted to murder officers as they carry out their duties.

“If anybody has any information about this attack then they must contact the police. This person is clearly a dangerous individual who needs to apprehended by police urgently.”
