Kieran McCarthy MLA said: “This is extremely alarming news that 20 hospital beds are being cut given the extra strain that our health service is currently facing.
“It is even more worrying given than the chairman of the British Medical Association in Northern Ireland, Dr Brian Patterson has said that 4,000 people are waiting for orthopaedic impatient treatment.
“I would strongly urge the Musgrave Park hospital to reconsider this decision. We should not be making cuts at a time when more services are needed.”
