Alliance Alderman Stephen Martin has welcomed news funding is to be made available for two local schools.
He said: “The Chancellor’s decision today that both Forthill Integrated Primary School and Forthill Integrated College are to share in a pot of £66 million with 15 other schools for essential building work is great news for Lisburn.’
“With funding becoming available right now this is the best kind of early Christmas present and a testament to the tireless efforts of the whole school community to make sure they were heard loud and clear when it came to the need for more money to improve the school buildings.
“Better still with news that both schools can progress even more ambitious development towards completion and a share of £160 million in investment, it is clear that the Forthill family more than impressed with their plans for the future.”
