Chris Lyttle MLA said: “I would like to congratulate all those involved in the recent youth elections. It is fantastic to see so many young people taking an interest in politics, either by standing for election or voting.
“As Chair of the Assembly Group on Children and Young People, I think it is really important that we encourage the next generation to get involved in politics and highlight why it matters.
“I am very pleased to see the first NI Youth Congress elections take place and I hope it will soon lead to the establishment of a NI Youth Assembly.
“I look forward to working with all those who were elected and would like to wish them every success for the future.”
