Trevor Lunn MLA said: “This was a horrendous attack. It is staggering to think that anyone could do this to someone.
“My thoughts are with the victim and I want to wish him a quick recovery from this deeply traumatic attack.
“People don’t want violence or intimidation in our society and the sooner that the small minority of people intent on such actions realise this, the better. Anyone with information on this attack should contact police immediately so that those involved can be caught.”
