Anna Lo MLA said: “This will be very welcome news to people in the border areas of Northern Ireland who have incurred roaming charges despite still being in the country.
“Most people tend to use their phones when they are abroad but have been faced with astronomical bills when they return home. The public have been fed up by these ridiculous charges. This is a great victory for consumers.
“I also hope that this decision will help our businesses as they look to secure international deals that would require a lot of foreign travel.”
