The MLA for South Belfast was joined by participants from across Belfast, who had signed up to take part in a 3k Family Fun Walk, a 3k run or a 10k run. Supporting the IF campaign to end world hunger, the event raised vital funds for Christian Aid, Concern Worldwide, Oxfam Ireland and Trócaire.
Anna Lo MLA said: “I want to congratulate everyone who turned up and supported this fantastic event today. It was great to see record numbers taking part.
“I sponsored the official launch of the Belfast One World Run in March after I had such a great experience taking part last year. It is a real fun, community event and I couldn’t wait to get my trainers on again for this year’s event.
“I want to commend everyone who took part today, testing their fitness levels to raise funds for the IF campaign to end world hunger. It was great to see so many different people come together to raise money for these worthwhile causes.
“The organisers should be proud of yet another successful event and we can all start to look forward to Belfast One World Run 2014.”
