Lo speaks at prestigious international conference

In 1999, Tony Blair and Dutch Prime Minister Wim Kok agreed to hold bilateral conferences on issues of shared interest and Alliance MLA Anna Lo is today speaking at the 10th Anniversary conference in Belfast. Other speakers at the Apeldoorn Conference, which is taking place at both the Grand Opera House and at Stormont include the Editor of the Financial Times, Lionel Barber; Lord Alderdice; Chair of The New West End Company, Dame Judith Mayhew Jonas; and Mayor of the Hague, Jozias van Aartsen.

South Belfast Alliance MLA Anna Lo said: “It is very pleasing that Belfast is hosting this important event and shows that Northern Ireland is a great place to hold a major conference. It’s a real privilege to speak at this prestigious event.

“This conference shows Northern Ireland in a very positive light and gives the region a chance to showcase itself to important international business and political leaders.

“The conference presents an opportunity for leaders from the Netherland and the UK to address issues like social cohesion and citizenship, and the massive challenges facing us during this economic downturn.”
