Lo appalled at sectarian and threatening remarks aimed at Rangers player

Alliance Culture, Arts and Leisure Spokesperson Anna Lo MLA has said she is appalled that sectarian and threatening remarks were posted online aimed at 17-year old former Gaelic footballer, Aaron McGregor, who recently signed for Rangers .

Anna Lo MLA said: “It is simply appalling that any person could stoop so low as to be involved in this type of sickening activity. It is terrible that anyone should face such abuse let alone a young person trying to start off in their career.

“Northern Ireland has a proud footballing tradition and I want to let Aaron know that people here want him to succeed in his career and that we are showing support for him at this very difficult time.

“Those who are involved in sectarian abuse and those who post threats online must realise that every effort will be made to find them and bring them to justice. Those caught will face the full weight of the law and the strongest possible message must be sent out about this type of behaviour.”
