The drugs had an estimated street value of £618,200 and two men were arrested at the scene.
Councillor Neil Kelly said: “I want to praise the PSNI officers involved who took quick, effective action after stopping these cars.
“This was a substantial cannabis find and it is worrying that another major drugs find has been made in Antrim. Drugs must be taken off our streets and I would appeal to anyone with information to contact the PSNI as soon as possible.
“Drugs can have a devastating impact and I hope these latest arrests will send a clear message that the Police are taking this issue very seriously.”
