David Ford said: “Irrespective of difficult personal matters that some in the DUP and Sinn Fein are dealing with, the public need to be given reassurances that everything that can be done will be done to overcome the current political difficulties and safeguard the future of the Northern Ireland Assembly.
“Stability and good leadership in the coming days are essential to cement the massive progress made in building peace here. It is extremely important that a programme of party talks is organised quickly to overcome any political problems that currently exist.”
