Fitzpatrick – Sports centre is great news for Coleraine

Coleraine Alliance Councillor Barney Fitzpatrick has welcomed the announcement that the University of Ulster is to build a £7.6 million sports centre at its Coleraine campus. It is planned that work will commence next year with completion in 2011.

Cllr Barney Fitzpatrick said: “This is great news for the Coleraine campus and the town itself. It shows the University’s continued commitment to investing here.

“It is only through the development of facilities such as this will we be able to help athletes reach the highest levels. Hopefully we will see some medals as a result of this sports centre.”
