Alliance Omagh Councillor Stephen Donnelly has condemned those behind a shooting at a house in the town yesterday.
Shots were fired at the property in the Thornlea area of Omagh around 8.15pm yesterday (Tuesday), striking the front door and window. A man and woman inside at the time were left shaken but uninjured. A black motorbike with two riders was seen leaving the area towards Deverney Road.
“While I am relieved none of the residents of Thornlea have been injured in this attack, this nonetheless represents an outrageous and shocking act of violence that could quite easily have been fatal,” said Councillor Donnelly.
“There is disgust right across the town at the prospect guns have been brought back on to our streets. A black motorcycle with two riders was witnessed leaving the scene shortly after.
“I would urge all who were in the area at the time and witnessed this, or anyone who can provide any kind of information, to make contact with the PSNI and to assist them with their inquiries so we can move swiftly to identify who was responsible for this attack.”
