Dickson – Derry explosion was intended to cause deaths

Alliance Chief Whip Stewart Dickson MLA has expressed his disgust at those behind an explosion in Derry on Saturday afternoon in Shipquay Street, there were no injuries. A phone warning was received before hand and the area was evacuated.

Stewart Dickson MLA said: “Those behind this explosion had intent to murder a large number of people. The fact that this attack happened on a Saturday afternoon in a busy shopping area just shows the callous and sick nature of those who planted this bomb.

“There is no support for the actions of the dissidents like we have seen today.

“If anybody has any information about this explosion then they must contact the police. These terrorists must be stopped now.”
