Dickson anger at those behind pipe bomb in Carnlough

Alliance East Antrim representative Cllr Stewart Dickson has expressed his anger towards those behind a pipe bomb that was found on the Ballymena Road area of Carnlough. It did not explode but has been described by police as viable. There is another suspicious object at The Roddens in Larne that is being investigated by police.

Cllr Stewart Dickson said: “I am angry that people in two towns have had their lives put at risk by the actions of a mindless minority still intent on bringing disruption, injury and death onto our streets.

“Everybody else has signed up to the peace process, when will they listen to the will of the people who want this to end. These actions were not acceptable during the Troubles and they are still not acceptable in 2011.

“I would appeal to anybody who has any information about either of these incidents to contact the police. These people must be stopped and taken off our streets by the authorities before we see serious injuries or worse.”
