Derry pipe bomb explosion could have killed – Lunn

Alliance Policing Board member Trevor Lunn MLA has stated that a pipe bomb that exploded after it was put through a letterbox of a house in Derry could have resulted in deaths or serious injuries. Nobody was hurt in the attack on Bonds Street.

Trevor Lunn MLA said: “This indiscriminate attack could have killed or caused serious injuries to anybody nearby. There cannot be any justification for carrying out this sort of attack.

“The public do not want this sort of violence on our streets. They want to go about their lives without fear of bombs exploding.

“If anybody has any information about this attack then I would urge them to contact the police.”
