Cochrane praises Police actions following discovery of a firearm

Alliance East Belfast MLA Judith Cochrane has praised the actions of the Police after they discovered a firearm during a search of a property on Bloomfield Drive in Belfast on Thursday. It is believed the search was part of an operation investigating organised crime

Judith Cochrane MLA said: “I would like to praise the actions of the Police who have ensured that there is one less firearm being used by criminals. Guns have no place on our streets.

“The only use of this weapon is to injure and kill or to cause intimidation. I am pleased to see the Police targeting organised crime and I hope to see them conducting future investigations.

“I would urge anybody with any information about criminal activity to contact the police.”
