It is important we remember all the lives lost to terrorism here and further afield, Alliance’s Sorcha Eastwood has said.
The Alliance Legacy spokesperson was speaking on European Day of Remembrance of Victims of Terrorism. She said it is vital to send a message of people standing united in the face of terrorism.
“It important we remember all those lives lost to terrorism, not just in the Troubles, but further afield over the years,” said Councillor Eastwood.
“Lives have been lost and others changed forever by people being injured or having their loved ones killed. Those who have lived their lives following experiencing something like have shown a courage I can only imagine and which I am constantly amazed by.
“It is vital we show we can stand united against terrorism and the evil it represents, especially in a region where some want to drag us back to the dark days of our past.”
