Alliance’s Fermanagh and South Tyrone Assembly candidate, Matt Beaumont has said the erecting of sectarian posters on Remembrance Day, close to the town’s war memorial, is a highly offensive act.

“It is absolutely mind boggling and highly offensive that anyone would carry out this stupid act, which achieves nothing except increasing tensions in the local community,” said Beaumont.

“Especially when you consider the history Enniskillen and Remembrance week share, Fermanagh is so much better than the acts of a pathetic few”

“The memorial represents those who fought and died to enable us to enjoy the freedoms we enjoy today. This despicable sectarianism is particularly low and achieves nothing.

“I urge anyone with information on this attack or previous ones to contact the police with it immediately.”
