Kellie Armstrong MLA has hit out at both DUP and SF for playing games with lives due to delays in legislation.
Alliance’s Communities spokesperson has said she is at “the end of her tether” with how the DUP and Sinn Fein are using people living in poverty as a political football.
She added: “The budget included money to close the bedroom tax and two child cap loopholes in our NI welfare mitigations. Yet the Minister for Communities has not brought forward legislation to allow that money to protect some of the most vulnerable families who are living in poverty
“Unfortunately it seems like the DUP are blocking the progress of this legislation at the Executive.
“It is time for political games to end as the DUP and Sinn Fein are harming children and families who depend on these much needed benefits.”
