Alliance Ballymena Councillor Patricia O’Lynn has welcomed news local firm Wrightbus is set receive £11.2 million to develop hydrogen-fuel technology.
She said: “It is fantastic to see a local business at the cutting edge of new technology, which will lead to a greener, more sustainable future.
“This is a significant economic boost to the area, which has been devastated in recent years by closures and downturn. I want to congratulate all involved in delivering this investment to our area and those who had the foresight to go for it.
“This move will allow Wrightbus to not only remain competitive, but to be leaders in its field as they look to developing the next generation of world-leading hydrogen buses.”
