Alliance Councillor for North Belfast Nuala McAllister has said whoever shot a man in Ardoyne speaks for no one in the community.

Councillor McAllister said: “This shooting is totally unacceptable. To carry out the attack in a house where a woman and four children lived is despicable and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. I hope the man makes a full and speedy recovery.

“These people speak for no one in the Ardoyne community and need to be taken off the streets. I would urge anyone with information to pass it to the police on the 101 number or anonymously to the Crimestoppers Charity on 0800 555 111.”
