Alliance Councillor Rachael Ferguson has condemned another night of violence in Derry~Londonderry, which saw more than 20 petrol bombs thrown.

She said: “It is worrying to see yet another night of violence in the area and I am appealing for all those involved to stop and think about what they are doing to their local community.

“We must see calm and cool heads in the days ahead. Those involved don’t speak for the majority in the area, where in recent days we have seen positive engagement around bonfires – however there is a danger negative headlines like these will overshadow on-going work.

“I’d urge anyone with information to contact the PSNI as soon as possible so that those involved can be removed from our streets.”
