Alliance Councillor Connie Egan has condemned another incident of criminal damage overnight in the Kilcooley area of Bangor.

A man in his 40s escaped injury following the attack on a home in Ballynoe Gardens. Shortly after midnight, a number of windows were smashed on the property. Three people were seen running away from the scene.

“I’m extremely disappointed to hear about more destruction within the heart of this community. Local people don’t want to see this violence and destruction we have unfortunately had here two nights in a row, and we all must stand together in condemning those determined to continue this irresponsible behaviour,” said Councillor Egan.

“I’ve been in touch with senior local PSNI officers, who have assured me they are taking this incident and one the previous night seriously, and will be acting accordingly.

“The rule of law must be upheld and I would encourage anyone with information to make contact with the PSNI or with Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 immediately.”
