Alliance Health Spokesperson Paula Bradshaw has welcomed news medicinal cannabis oil confiscated from the family of Billy Caldwell will now be returned.
Charlotte Caldwell had the supply – set to treat her son Billy’s severe epilepsy – removed from her possession at Heathrow Airport last week.
Paula Bradshaw said: “We are all delighted for Charlotte and her family in the knowledge that Billy will now have access to what has already proven in the past to effectively manage his severe epilepsy.
“Yet, while this move is welcome, I must also question why it took so long for the UK Government to intervene? While they were waiting, Billy’s health was seriously jeopardised and we can all be thankful this decision was made before his situation deteriorated further.”
