Alliance Justice spokesperson Trevor Lunn MLA has said whoever planted the bomb on Brians Well Road didn’t care who could have been killed or injured.
Trevor Lunn said: “Leaving a viable bomb in this residential area could have resulted in major loss of life. Whoever planted this device may have been targeting the police, but it could have killed or maimed anyone passing by, adults or children. An attack like this on the police is an attack on the entire community, as the police are there to deliver the community policing people want and need.
“Whoever planted this bomb are enemies of the people of Poleglass. They have nothing to offer but death and destruction. It is time they realised there is no support for their violence. They need to get off the backs of the people of west Belfast.
“I would encourage anyone with information about this attack, or other serious crime, to pass it to the police or anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.”
