The incident at the headquarters of the Public Initiative for Prevention of Suicide and Self-Harm (PIPS) on the Antrim Road on Wednesday (April 13) around 8.25pm saw the windows smashed. A man in his 40s was subsequently arrested.
“It is incredibly disappointing someone felt the need to target such a vital organisation which provides support for so many,” said Councillor McAllister.
“I utterly condemn those behind the attack and I know the entire North Belfast community will join me in those sentiments. It is baffling someone would attack an office offering these services.
“I would call upon people to offer support for PIPS in whatever way they can so their operations can continue as smoothly as possible. I urge anyone with information on this crime to contact the PSNI as soon as possible.”
