Mr Dickson said: “What a wonderful achievement by all those involved in securing this magnificent award for Glenarm, when it won the International Challenge (Small) category in the Communities in Bloom contest during the 2015 National Symposium and Awards Ceremonies in Canada last weekend.
“This was no mean achievement when one considers the Glenarm team had to overcome seriously challenging and difficult competition from the Netherlands, Canada and the Czech Republic.
“The volunteer team really had to concentrate and focus on detail to ensure all the areas of test were meticulously covered including Tidiness, Heritage Conservation, Landscape and Floral Displays.
“I agree entirely with the judging panel when it said Glenarm is a beautiful historic coastal village and I am thrilled to be an MLA with such an outstanding World Champion in my constituency – well done to all concerned.”
