Trevor Lunn MLA said: “There has been a marked change in progress on Integrated Education since the Drumragh legal ruling last year. This court case confirmed the obligation imposed on the Department of Education to facilitate and encourage the development of integrated schools.
“As a result we have seen a number of Integrated schools across Northern Ireland receive approval for capital builds and an expansion in numbers.
“I was pleased to see commitments in the Stormont House Agreement for funding for shared and integrated education projects. This should allow for the expansion of the sector. I will be holding the Executive to account to ensure that they deliver projects for both sectors and not just shared education initiatives.
“It was great to see all the pupils take part in the event in Stormont. This is the sixth time I have hosted this annual event and it is one of my favourites. I believe that we can build on the success of last year and deliver further progress for Integrated Education.”
