Dickson condemns those behind Larne hoax alert

Alliance East Antrim MLA, Stewart Dickson, has condemned those behind a hoax alert in Larne on Monday afternoon. The Police evacuated an area around Dunluce Street after a suspicious object was discovered but it was later declared a hoax device.

Stewart Dickson MLA said: “Those behind this hoax have brought disruption to Larne and wasted valuable Police resources.

“Rather than working in the community preventing crime, Police officers had to be diverted to deal with this incident.

“Those responsible have created fear in the local community and should face justice in the courts. I would urge anybody with any information about this incident to contact the PSNI.”
