The 14 men and 6 women were rescued in two locations in County Armagh in the past few days. They were involved in the food production industry. Three men have been arrested by the Police.
Chris Lyttle MLA said: “I would like to pay tribute to the Police who have rescued these victims of human trafficking. I am glad that they are being well looked after and are receiving all the support they require.
“Human trafficking is a real crime that is happening in Northern Ireland. I welcome the campaigns by the Justice Minister, PSNI and other agencies such as No More Traffik, to raise awareness of this issue and to encourage the public to report any suspicious activity.
“I hope the Police will be able to rescue every victim of human trafficking in Northern Ireland and bring all those involved in this despicable crime to justice.”
